The Discovery That Led to Stemregen
How did one lake-grown algae appear to support so many different areas of health? Christian Drapeau’s search for an answer led him to study stem cells in the bloodstream - and began the research that eventually became STEMREGEN Release.
The Discovery That Led to Stemregen
In the mid-1990s, Christian Drapeau was studying a blue-green algae – called AFA – that grows naturally in Klamath Lake in southern Oregon.
At the time, there were many reports from people consuming AFA who described a wide variety of health benefits. For one person, the benefit seemed connected to the liver. For another, it was the heart. Someone else noticed changes related to the pancreas, the brain, or the skin.
The question was: how could one natural ingredient appear to support so many different areas of the body?
There was no clear explanation.
Searching for the Mechanism
For years, the benefits associated with AFA were difficult to understand because they seemed too broad to be explained by one single pathway.
Then, in early 2001, Christian came across studies and articles in the field of stem cell research. These studies suggested that stem cells were not only involved in specific isolated functions, but may actually represent the body’s broader repair system.
That idea changed everything.
If stem cells were the repair system of the body, then it raised an important possibility: perhaps AFA was not acting on one organ or one symptom directly. Perhaps it was supporting the body’s repair system itself.
In the same way that some plants are known to stimulate or support the immune system, it seemed possible that a plant could also stimulate or support the repair system.
Measuring Stem Cells in the Blood
To investigate this idea, Christian and his team acquired a flow cytometer, a piece of scientific equipment used to count and analyze cells. They began measuring stem cells in the blood.
Very quickly, they discovered that AFA was having a measurable effect. It was increasing the number of stem cells circulating in the bloodstream.
This led to an important conclusion: AFA was acting as a stem cell mobilizer.
Rather than targeting one specific organ or tissue, AFA appeared to support the body by helping mobilize stem cells into circulation, where they could become available to participate in the body’s natural process of tissue repair.
From One Discovery to Decades of Research
After completing the scientific work and studies on AFA, Christian became curious about a bigger question: “If one plant could have an effect on stem cells, could there be others?”
Human beings have evolved in close relationship with the natural environment. It seemed unlikely that AFA would be the only plant or natural compound capable of influencing the body’s repair system.
That question opened the door to the next 20 years of research.
Over time, this research revealed a handful of plants and plant extracts that also act as stem cell mobilizers. Each one was studied for its ability to support the release of stem cells from the bone marrow into the bloodstream.
The Development of STEMREGEN Release
The discoveries that began with AFA eventually led to the development of STEMREGEN Release.
STEMREGEN Release combines specific plant extracts that have been shown to support stem cell mobilization. The purpose is to help increase the number of stem cells circulating in the blood so they are available to participate in the body’s normal repair process.
In studies, taking two capsules has been shown to increase circulating stem cells within two to three hours. This increase has been quantified at approximately 10 million additional stem cells in the blood circulation.
These are stem cells that can then become available to support the body’s natural process of tissue repair.
Supporting the Body’s Repair System
The discovery that led to STEMREGEN began with a simple but important question: how could one plant appear to support so many different areas of health?
The answer was not that the plant was targeting the liver, heart, pancreas, brain, or skin separately. The answer was that it appeared to be supporting something much more fundamental: the body’s natural repair system - stem cells.
By combining these specialized and beneficial plants that all support the release of stem cells into circulation, STEMREGEN Release is designed to help support the body’s ability to repair, renew, and maintain itself over time.
