Conversations Unplugged

with Jonathan Otto

Jonathan Otto spent six figures pursuing stem cell treatments for himself and his family. He was dealing with chronic fatigue and autoimmune issues, his father was struggling with knee pain, and his wife was in pain. Jonathan says that despite the expense and his desperation for answers, those treatments failed to deliver for him in almost every case. That experience is part of what makes his perspective on the body’s own repair system so personal. In this conversation with STEMREGEN Founder and Chief Science Officer Christian Drapeau, the investigative reporter and health researcher explores red light, stem cells, root causes, and why he believes the future of regenerative health begins with better understanding the mechanisms already inside the body.

Jonathan’s interest in health began long before he became known for investigating it. As a young man, he struggled with chronic fatigue and a long list of health challenges that eventually forced him to leave full-time work. Searching for answers became an investigation of his own body. Over the years, he says he has connected with roughly 700 doctors, studied their approaches, visited practices, and produced health documentaries viewed by millions. Through it all, one skill became central to his work: connecting dots that others might overlook and asking what is actually driving a problem in the first place.

That search eventually led Jonathan to red and near-infrared light, which he describes as taking his own health journey “into a whole new league.” What interests him most is not simply adding something to the body, but finding ways to activate processes the body already possesses. That is also where he sees a natural connection with Christian’s work. Their shared focus is on supporting endogenous repair, including increasing the availability of the body’s own circulating stem cells and exploring how complementary technologies may work alongside that process.

For Jonathan, the larger issue is a healthcare mindset that can become too focused on managing symptoms without asking why those symptoms developed. His investigative approach keeps bringing him back to root causes and the body’s ability to regulate and repair itself. That is why STEMREGEN resonates with him after years of researching regenerative approaches and personally spending so much on them. Rather than viewing repair as something that must always come from outside the body, Jonathan and Christian share a different question: how much more becomes possible when we learn to better support the regenerative capacity that is already there?
